sweet success

It is with great joy that I report to you…

I got into a PhD program!!

Yes, indeed, the first results of  “the elephant project,” which seemed so utterly impossible nearly a year ago, are positive. I am still in a state of wonder and awe.

The best part about this particular program is that it is the single program that I KNEW I would not, in any way, get into. Two years ago, I applied to this school for a Masters degree and was rejected. This particular school is known for having ridiculously high standards and a grueling admissions process.  Just yesterday, I was sharing with someone that I was certain I would not get in to this school, in particular. So needless to say I was shocked this morning when I opened my email to find a congratulations letter, along with details about an all-expenses-paid visit to the campus to meet the faculty and other students in the department.

All of this is still a blur. I do not know when it will feel real. But for now, I am basking in the joy of this moment. I did it. I was accepted into a fantastic PhD program. My dream can become a reality. I am in awe.

Thank you to all of your for your love and support, this project could not have succeeded without you.
